Later I would come to find out about his involvement with the occupation of Alcatraz, and the American Indian Movement. At a time when Americans loved to romanticize Indians, meanwhile ignoring or denying them their rights under signed treaties, John stood up. Listen to John Trudell speak on Indian Rights in the US and the occupation of Alcatraz.
