Video: Sketchbook Tour 4

I’m a sketchbook lover since I was a kid and I have tons of them. For the past 3 years I have been sharing them via video tours like these and specific sketchbook pages like this one from this same book.

What are these? This is a video where I flip through my sketchbook and show some of my doodles, drawings, paintings, and ideas in between client and personal work. Watch and share.

Dig this? Check out my sketchbook tour #3 or this recent sketchbook page

VIDEO: Wex Center for the Arts (Characters)

Hey, I was commissioned by Wexner Center (Ohio) to make some quick videos for kids at home during quarantine. These took awhile to do but were really fun. Check out the first of three about drawing character designs. I make lots of character designs for fun, for clients, and for stories so this is a short peek into how I come up with them. I visited Columbus Ohio and met Dionne Custer who reached out to me for this.

See some details about this year’s character collage which is featured in this video a bit. Here’s one of them.

Video – 1st Children’s portrait #tbt

I made this video back in 2012 because I do tons of blog posts but was shy about video. In it I share the first children’s portrait I did of my son who was 8 or so. I’ve done over 50 portraits of children and their family members. I love doing them and will continue to do more in the future. But check out this video for now.

And here are some of the recent portraits I’ve done:

Childrens Portraits #1 (Video)

Peace, so this is a first for me, making a vlog. I don’t do editing or shooting, but what the hell. I’m am steadily at work on my next short story and several other things; namely my first childrens book. In order to build my audience or the folks who will appreciate what i do outside of immediate family and friends it has taken years. And I will definitely be asking you for help in spreading the word when the time comes again.

For now, get ready for some cute portraits of children of all ages and backgrounds as I let folks know about the stories I’m telling. Please comment, and or share with like minds. And by all means, share this with anyone you know in the realm of childrens books, YA Novels, shit, animation, any one into storytelling in general. Enjoy.

Peep these shots of the steps of doing a quick painting of my little lion. He loves making faces, but I decided to pick a relatively simple one to paint.

And the final. I like the colors because he has a warm and fiery spirit. I chose several patterns to illustrate the fact that he comes from so many different cultures. If you would like a painting of your child, go HERE
