A new children’s portrait! Not only has it been awhile since I posted one of these, but its been awhile since I was commissioned to do one. This one is of two girls, cousins actually commissioned by the mother of one and the aunt of the other.
Here’s a portrait I painted recently of this cutie named Malayah, commissioned by her Papa for Mama. Funny story, i actually met this child at a kids book reading I was doing right before I painted her 🙂
What are these? These are children’s portraits I paint custom for aunts, uncles, moms, dads, care givers, families and more. I’ve been painting them for nearly a decade. They’re fun to paint and unique ways of giving someone a gift. Although the majority of these are of children and families, I paint young adults and adults too.
Here’s a portrait of my friend Nikki’s son Cruz. Nikki was the first person to commission me to do a portrait of her daughter Mia way back in 2012. Check it out here.

I painted this portrait of my god daughter for her Mama and as one of the rewards for my Art of Rob kickstarter. She is elementary school age and a mix of Black, Asian, and Irish and shes beautiful inside and out:) Check out a few process shots below.

What up? This is a collage of children’s and family portraits I’ve painted over the past two years. I started these paintings in 2012 before I self published “Furqan’s First Flat Top” as a way to generate income to make the book and to let parents know that I planned to make my own children’s book. You can see me talk about it in this video from 2012.
Since publishing the book, I continued and I like painting them. They provide value to parents, grandparents, caregivers, etc and I think they’re a cool gift idea for the holidays or special occasions. I’ve painted whole families, newborns, kids, and teens. And I plan to continue doing it.
If you’d like to commission one for yourself or as a gift to someone, follow this LINK
Thanks in advance!
Check out some of the collages from previous years.
I just finished painting this portrait of these two sisters who are part of a beautiful Blasian Bay Area family. I wont mention their names accept to say their parents call them by their names with the additional “Bear” which is very cute. Check out some process below. And if you’re interested in getting a kid or family painted, here’s the LINK
Errray, I painted this at the beginning of the year for a woman named Karen. I don’t know much about the kids, but they’re super cute and mixed babies of course. Check out some of the process below. And if you’re interested in getting a kid or family painted, here’s the LINK
Here’s a recent painting I finished for Belen, daughter and sister to this family. This was a fun challenge, taking several poses and making them into one painting.

Yo, really like how this one turned out. My bro Walker hit me up to paint this portrait of a father and his sons and it is a special gift to give. Scroll through to see some of the painting process.
